WHAT IS THE LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR THE ACREAGES?
Acreages will be sold as freehold bare-land strata lots.
what permits are required in order to build my own home/cabin?
No building permits are required by the qathet Regional District, though you will be required to build in accordance with the BC Building Code, and have an electrical inspection completed.
Can I BUY THE RAW LAND AND BUILD MY OWN CABIN?
Yes.
ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS ON THE SIZE OF THE HOME I CAN BUILD?
There are no restrictions imposed by the Regional District, though homes will be limited by our Building Scheme to a maximum of 5,000 sf.
Can I own an acreage and not build a home or cabin (and park my rv etc?)
Yes. Waterfront lots are the exception, however.
Is there power available at the lots?
Yes! Up to 400 amp power is available at each lot at Basecamp.
Is there WATER available at the lots?
Yes! Upon purchase of your parcel a well will be drilled at the lot line.
Are short-term rentals allowed?
Yes. Weekly and monthly vacation rentals will be allowed. There will be restrictions on commercial use however.
will you build a cabin for me?
We have a few preferred builders who specialize in modular and pre-fabricated cabin designs and can assist you, in order to expedite construction and minimize friction for you. We (the developer) will not be building homes but will assist with installing septic and water. We’d be happy to introduce you to custom home builders in the area as well of course.
